Formerly E&O Trading Company, E&O Asian Kitchen underwent a remodel in July at the hands of designer Tonya Bellusci, who has worked wonders with the stunning lofted space—now with high ceilings and a raw bar. The menu’s all new too, with dishes created by Consulting Executive Chef Arnold Wong, a beloved Bay Area chef for nearly two decades. Much of the cuisine is a modern take on Wong’s childhood favorites, like deviled tea eggs and five-spice chicken wings.
Mixologist Carlos Yturria is always busy behind the bar creating his own infusions to make drinks like the Starry Night, which teams Yturria’s spiced pear reduction with Rittenhouse Rye and lemon for a smooth, spicy sip.
A familiar face and powerful PR force in the Bay Area, Andrew Freeman is dedicated to making clients happy. His impressive career speaks for itself, and he’s enjoyed every minute along the way—especially eating out every night and staying at wonderful hotels.
At Freeman’s namesake hospitality consulting agency, a long list of clients includes David Burke Restaurants, the French Culinary Institute, Kimpton Hotels and Campari. Freeman is also the mastermind behind SF Chefs. Rivaling the Taste of Chicago and New York City’s Food & Wine Festival, the annual event highlights the inimitable culinary culture of San Francisco; this year’s award-winning participants included Traci Des Jardins, Charles Phan, Hubert Keller, Tyler Florence, Craig Stoll and Dominique Crenn.
Freeman says he is most proud to have been selected in 2010 by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) as one of the ‘Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing.’ Freeman also makes a point to give back to his local community through charity work with Meals On Wheels San Francisco and Dress for Success San Francisco.
