Joining with Chris Reda and Brian Gold of The Griffin, Scott Disick (otherwise known as Kourtney Kardashian’s beau) has opened an elegant new Japanese restaurant in the heart of the Meatpacking District. Since the features Eastern specialties like lobster soba, kona kampachi tartare and miso-glazed king salmon, and since the opulent interior boasts Japanese street art and hard-edged pictures of Yakuza body art, diners might be mistaken for thinking they’re in Ginza rather than on Gansevoort Street. Until, that is, they take their last bite of RYU sundae—a multi-cultural concoction of miso cake, brown butter caramel, crème fraîche and puffed rice atop cherry gelato made with roasted peanuts, salted caramel and toasted almonds—and step back onto the bustling, cobblestoned street.
