What we love
- Indie music fans will get the rockstar treatment with VIP passes to the eagerly anticipated Culture Collide Festival in Los Angeles from October 4–7, plus round-trip flights for two from JFK to LAX on Virgin America and a five-night stay at the Palihotel on Melrose.
- Sponsored by the software pioneer Twonky, the Virgin America flight out to L.A. will be unlike any other flight you’ve ever taken. The “I’m With the Band” experience will feature DJ sets and musical performances in the vein of the music festival—30,000 feet in the air.
- This amped-up in-flight entertainment includes a DJ set from of Montreal’s Kevin Barnes and from Benjamin Curtis and Alejandra Peheza of School of Seven Bells, as well as an acoustic set from the electropop operation Penguin Prison, featuring Chris Glover.
- Take in DJ sets by of Montreal's Kevin Barnes, School of Seven Bells, Penguin Prison and more at the kick-off party at Taix on October 3. Then, check out the live stages, pop-up shops and food trucks at the block party on October 7.
- Your four-day VIP wristband to the music festival will give you access to Culture Collide giveaways, including signed merchandise, CDs from participating acts, gift bags and more.
- Each day of this massive party offers happy hours and food from around the world.
- Participating musical artists in the festival include The Wombata, of Montreal, The Big Pink, School of Seven Bells, Zola Jesus, Niki and the Dove, Patrick Wolf, John Talabot and Dean Wareham Plays Galaxie 500, and dozens of others.
- The Palihotel is a 32-room boutique hotel catering to discerning guests who favor a unconventionally contemporary edge. On site are The Hart and The Hunter restaurant, which serves southern influenced comfort food; Thai Thai, their Thai massage parlor and Vanity, a blow-out bar.
- When you’re in need of a ride, Uber uses GPS technology to find the driver nearest to you. Once a driver is located, Uber sends a text message with an ETA; within minutes your driver is waiting just outside your door. What’s more, once your driver has delivered you to your destination, there’s no exchange of payment made in the car. It’s all handled online through your Uber account. Cars come from a fleet packed with Lincoln Town Cars, Cadillac Escalades and Mercedes S500s.
