Tucked in the Art Deco district, The Marlin Hotel boasts an in-house recording studio and has recently welcomed a new scene-stealer, the restaurant, MIX. The alluring atmosphere hosts an in-the-know crowd that can be found sipping cocktails and waiting for reservations for one of the toffee-colored banquettes.
MIX was brought to South Beach by restaurant veterans Walid Sfeir and John DeLucie—the team behind The Mansion at MGM Grand, The Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel and Nobu of the famed Shore Club. Spanish-born chef Israel Mora, formerly of ZUMA, is behind the creative mix of Spanish, Asian and American cuisine, like grilled octopus salad, tuna tataki and Rossejat, a paella with angel hair pasta. He explains, “The restaurant sets [itself] apart because the menu is a mix of different cuisines, clean and balanced flavors.”
