Sitting atop the Art Institute’s awe-inspiring Modern Wing, Terzo Piano is Chef Tony Mantuano’s latest hit. A strong commitment to sustainably produced, locally sourced ingredients guides the entire menu, from the Anguria Fresca cocktail featuring North Shore gin, watermelon and cucumber, to the lamb burger stuffed with goat cheese from Capriole, Indiana. Favorites include flatbreads, pastas and beautifully prepared fish, rounded out by an artisanal cheese list featuring exclusively American cheeses. A serene spot to bring visitors, business clients or a date, the dining room by Dirk Denison Architects could be a modern art display, with curved white chairs and white resin tabletops that catch the sunlight at different hours of the day.
